Competences
The core competence of MiPlaza Equipment Engineering and Services (EE&S) is the ability to support customers in all phases of the life cycle of process equipment. This starts with the definition of the specifications. For process equipment, these are based on the technology process as provided by our customers. Subsequently, support is given in acquiring optimal process equipment that is best suited to perform the desired technology process. This means that the equipment is either purchased or is built in-house by or under supervision of Equipment Services employees.

Equipment Services takes care of installation and, during operation, of repair and maintenance. If asked for by our customers, the process equipment can also be modified for new process needs. If the process equipment becomes obsolete, Equipment Services looks for reuse or selling possibilities. At the end of the life cycle, the process equipment is removed. To support all these activities, we administrate all the equipment-related data in an asset management system.
We also assist with the definition, design, realization and control of technological infrastructure such as cleanrooms or laboratories and the design and realization of it and, subsequently, the control of this environment. A smaller activity of Equipment Services is the mechanical support in realizing demonstrators.

Customers
Our major customer is Philips Research, especially the technology-focused groups, but we offer our services also to other technology-involved parties, inside or outside Philips. We provide field support to shared technology facilities at MiPlaza (Cleanroom and Molecular Biology Facilities).
Our design and construction activities are offered to both Philips-internal and external customers. Our primary goal is to understand and anticipate on customers needs as much as possible. The services are performed turn-key or as a project, just according to the customers wish.
