amBX - a new way of experiencing home entertainment.

With amBX, multiple devices in your room work in harmony to deliver new entertainment experiences: surround lighting, vibration, air movement and other effects. It takes essentially a ‘virtual’ activity - games, movies, music - and turns it into a far more tangible, immersive experience.

The following software products are developed for Philips amBX www.ambx.com and are available as commercial products for the consumer market:

amBX gaming FXGen
A PC application for generating amBX effects while playing existing games that don’t have native amBX support. With amBX, the gaming world leaps out from your screen and wraps around you so you can feel the action.

amBX audio FXGen
A Windows Media Player plug-in for generating the amBX effects while listening to your favorite music. Using amBX a new listening experience is created and the music becomes more than just audio.

amBX web plug-in
An Internet Explorer plug-in for controlling the amBX devices while surfing the amBX-enabled web sites.

amBX Home Cinema
A prototype system for playing back amBX-enabled movies and controlling the amBX devices in your room. The devices joining in with the movie give you a more immersive and rewarding cinematic experience with surround lighting, vibration through active furniture, airflow and other effects.
