SPC900NC Webcam Project

Project Description
In July 2005 MiPlaza was contacted by Philips Consumer Electronics with the request for assistance in the driver development for the SPC900NC webcam, under extremely challenging time constraints.

When the project was accepted, a joint project team of members from different departments of MiPlaza and TriMension was quickly set up. The goal was to make the software ready for commercial release on the planned date. MiPlaza took on the software project management and set up a new working structure incorporating all parties involved. Acceptance and regression testing was subcontracted to the Professional Multimedia Test Center (PMTC).

To meet the demanding timescales of the project, a simplified development process was defined. The development team worked in weekly cycles, delivering a new release of the software, ready for testing, every week.

Stringent quality standards, including the PMI (Pondered Maturity Index), were adhered to during the project, which culminated in the successful commercial release of the driver software on the scheduled date and in conformance with the quality standards of Philips Consumer Electronics.
